Tamsulosin (Tamsulosin hydrochloride (Flomax))
Drug Class: Alpha-1 blocker
Selective alpha-1 adrenergic receptor blocker that relaxes smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder neck. Used to relieve urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate (BPH) and to help pass kidney stones.
Common Side Effects of Tamsulosin
- Dizziness
- Orthostatic hypotension (blood pressure drop when standing)
- Retrograde ejaculation
- Headache
- Runny nose
- Weakness
